Since 2000 he combines his passions for photography and nature in the southwest (the Lot), and his work focuses particularly on woodland and its undergrowth.

By walking in the nearby forest in all seasons, often returning to the same spot, he captures fleeting moments with his camera. Philip Payne plays with mist and rays of sunlight, offering up what he calls “the interpretation of a certain close-up view of reality” in order to “send messages and provoke a mood or an emotion.”

Working mainly with a Nikon Z72 and a 70/200 mm telephoto lens and using a short focus, he deliberately creates a blurred effect in order to highlight a particular detail better or to simply invite the viewer to dream. His landscapes, in black and white to invoke winter or in colour, tranform a series of footpaths into so many tunnels or cathedrals of greenery.

Michel Debiard
Sud-Ouest
07/10/2023

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ fullwidth=”on” _builder_version=”4.21.0″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_fullwidth_image src=”https://www.philip-payne.art/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/dsc_2279-Modifier-stretch.png” title_text=”O1″ _builder_version=”4.21.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_fullwidth_image][/et_pb_section]

Philip PayneArtist PhotographerAtelier Web SudInterested in photography from a very early age, Philip Payne became a professional photographer then a sound engineer, before taking up photography again for web site design.
